The Very Most - Winter EP

The Very Most’s 4th and final EP this year is upon us. Winter is a lavish ode to Christmas and is perfect if you fancy an early taste of the festive spirit. Winter marks the completion of the A Year With The Very Most project. Working with the Very Most has been such a pleasure and I’d like to thank them for making 2009 such a memorable year for indiecater. And it doesn’t end there as the Very Most will be headlining the first ever Indiecater night in Whelans, Dublin next month (December 12th)!

In The Dream of The Sea Life Comes To Life

Candy Claws - In The Dream of The Sea Life

Today marks the official release date for our very first ever CD (4 panel digipak, with lyrics and lots of sea creatures). Yep, no longer does the indiecater tagline ‘Quality Indie Music Downloads’ cover all bases because we have entered the realm of the physical release. In The Dream of The Sea Life by Colorado’s finest Candy Claws was all the persuasion we ever needed to make the giant leap – this music was just made for old fashioned home stereos.

In The Dream of The Sea Life has already been feted by Pitchfork, respected blog I Guess I’m Floating and ex Melody Maker (and Plan B Mag) stalwart Everett True but it has been the feedback from you that has consolidated in our minds what a special work it is. Ryan and Kay have taken their influences (the Beach Boys, My Bloody Valentine) and cast them in their own likeness. Their efforts have resulted in one of the finest pieces of electronica in all of 2009. This is an album containing eerie sounds from the depths of a place very few choose to venture, is laden with effortlessly melodious boy/girl vocals and presents instruments torn from their comfort zone and cast in brilliant new forms.

You can buy In The Dream of The Sea Life for 9 euro (currency converter here), which includes delivery to anywhere in the world. It’s a small price to pay for something that you’ll grow to treasure. Pop along here to read the story of the album, listen to it in full and download an ace track called Catamaran for free.
